Cambodia Casinos
August 19th, 2023 by Darion

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that features many comforts accompanying the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
