The confirmed number of Kyrgyzstan casinos is something in question. As data from this state, out in the very remote central part of Central Asia, tends to be difficult to achieve, this may not be too astonishing. Regardless if there are two or three legal casinos is the item at issue, perhaps not in fact the most earth-shaking bit of information that we do not have.
What will be true, as it is of most of the old Soviet nations, and absolutely true of those in Asia, is that there no doubt will be a lot more not allowed and underground casinos. The change to approved gambling did not empower all the illegal casinos to come away from the illegal into the legal. So, the controversy over the total number of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling dens is a minor one at most: how many authorized casinos is the element we’re attempting to reconcile here.
We know that in Bishkek, the capital metropolis, there is the Casino Las Vegas (a remarkably original title, don’t you think?), which has both gaming tables and one armed bandits. We will also see both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Both of these contain 26 one armed bandits and 11 table games, separated amidst roulette, twenty-one, and poker. Given the amazing similarity in the sq.ft. and setup of these two Kyrgyzstan gambling halls, it might be even more bizarre to determine that both share an address. This seems most bewildering, so we can perhaps state that the list of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the authorized ones, ends at two casinos, one of them having changed their name recently.
The state, in common with nearly all of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast conversion to free-enterprise economy. The Wild East, you might say, to refer to the chaotic conditions of the Wild West an aeon and a half back.
Kyrgyzstan’s casinos are honestly worth visiting, therefore, as a bit of social research, to see money being bet as a form of social one-upmanship, the apparent consumption that Thorstein Veblen talked about in nineteeth century u.s.a..
